About the Foundation

The Cobb County Public Library Foundation (Cobb Library Foundation for short) is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization that provides support to the Cobb County Public Library System by raising funds and seeking other contributions from the community and business partnerships.

The Foundation was established in 2003 to build private support, enhance visibility for our library’s impact and strengthen the public’s commitment to a fully funded library system.

Through the generous support of many civic-minded corporations, institutions and individuals, the Foundation has provided start-up funding for new programs, such as technology for Portable Laptop Training Labs and Early Literacy Computer Stations, and even the Triple D Production Company.

Your gift to the Foundation can qualify for income, estate or gift tax deductions, within the limits imposed by the law. You may designate your gift to be used in the area of greatest need, or direct it to a specific division or program within the Library.

The Role of the Foundation

The Cobb Library Foundation was founded in 2003 to create the margin of excellence for our library—building private support, enhancing visibility for our library's impact, and strengthening the public's commitment to a great library. The Foundation and the Library work together, in strong partnership, to determine where private funds can be leveraged to have the greatest impact and at the same time, not supplant the public's responsibility for funding a strong library system. The Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization.
